Natural slate: 80–100 years. Concrete tile: 30–50 years. Clay tile: 50–100 years. Fibre cement: 30–40 years. Lifespan depends heavily on installation quality and maintenance.
A dry verge uses plastic or aluminium clips to secure the edge tiles, rather than traditional mortar bedding. More durable, maintenance-free, and looks much neater over time.
